Everyone’s favorite heavy metal wordsmith is back with yet another enlightening book. Martin Popoff is probably the pre-eminent scribe in the heavy metal kingdom and has always provided interesting and often humorous thoughts and reviews about the genres bands and albums. I own and have read just about everything he has put out, and while I may not always agree with his opinion I respect his words more than any other person that dips their toes in the murky pool that is heavy metal…
I won't reveal to you what the final rankings are here, but I will say there are some surprises early. This kind of collection is like candy to a child for a guy like me. I have been known to sit around for hours thinking up lists like this, then annoying everyone I know as I try to invoke an argument about them. Really though, aren’t arguments just what a book such as this is supposed to inspire? If you are the same kind of person that I am then you should definitely pick up this book. I am not sure how many more projects like this that Popoff will be able to dream up, but I know that when he does I will be there with open wallet.
