When Nancy Wilson left Pacific University and joined Heart, her sister Ann's band, in the early 1970s, the sound of Northwest rock changed. The Wilsons merged their folksinger tendencies with a bunch of guys who liked to play Led Zeppelin covers, and Heart became a hit-making machine.
