Neil Peart’s name may sound familiar to musicians: he’s the rock group Rush’s lyricist and drummer, and Traveling Music: The Soundtrack to My Life and Times blends an autobiography and musical journey with a survey of Peart’s travels in his BMW Z-8 from Los Angeles to Trexas. The idea was to find newfound inspiration in a solitary journey: Traveling Music provides both musical notes and travelogue, charting inspirational sources as much as destinations in the process.
