To coincide with their 30th anniversary celebration… Popoff (who claims that this is not the “official” Rush biography, although the book was written in cooperation with the band) lays the icing on the cake with this intimate and vivid full-colour-throughout recollection of Rush’s illustrious career, beginning with their pre-mature days as a local Toronto club band, then morphing into one of the most revered and distinct progressive rock bands of all time.
… Contents Under Pressure is a book for those Rush fans who are all about the love of their music, each chapter making you want to pull out and re-live each album in its glory, witnessing the band’s consistent development into what they have become. And it should be interesting to see how such a book could serve and accommodate the uninitiated, or the one who isn’t familiar with Rush wholly, but seems curious enough. 8.5/10
