Martin Popoff has done it again! This time he sinks his syntax into the band Rush…
This book is a delight to read. Rush have always been a private band but Popoff got them to crack open their door, ever so slightly, to discuss their rich history. Neil Peart comes across as the Professor; wise and sturdy, all the while approaching mystic rhythms more as science problems than as musical passages. Geddy comes across as the intellectual, trying to find meaning in every minuscule detail. Alex, however, seems to be the most approachable and fun. Never one to walk away from a party or shy away from a direct question, Lifeson has a boyish grin that gives Rush a spark. Lee and Peart bring the brains and emotions while Alex brings the oomph....
Popoff peeks into the world of Rush and what he finds may surprise the fans. The band has strong opinions on each era of the band’s musical history. Jaws will drop when true feelings are revealed concerning what the fans consider to be the best the band has to offer.
