Pop Classics series announced

We are excited to announce the launch of a new series of short books devoted to all things pop culture!

Pop Classics will offer intelligent but accessible arguments about why a particular pop culture phenomenon matters. Coming in at between 20,000 and 40,000 words, Pop Classics will give writers the opportunity to share the importance of their particular pop culture addiction.

Editor, Jen Knoch who is spearheading the series said, “At ECW pop culture is more than a guilty pleasure or a casual pastime, it’s a passion, the subject of many lunchtime debates and mailroom debriefs. It’s a cornerstone of our list, which for over a decade has boasted celebrated music chronicles and acclaimed analyses of TV shows. We believe that these art forms can be as insightful, provocative, and moving as the fine books of fiction and poetry we publish. They matter. So we’re calling on authors to channel their inner pop culture evangelist, to pick a favourite TV show, book series, film, or band — contemporary or nostalgic — and show us why it’s important, what makes it a classic. We want authors to be able to write outside their traditional field or genre, to have a chance to let their inner fanboys and girls out to play, and to generate some incisive critical commentary in short, punchy volumes of pocket pop.”
