The Dead Kid Detective Agency tells the story of October Schwartz. New to Sticksville and short on friends, October spends most of her time in the cemetery which, conveniently, borders on her backyard. It's there that October meets the dead kids, each from a different era of the past. Soon October befriends the dead kids and together they form The Dead Kid Detective Agency -- with October's smarts and the dead kids' abilities to walk through walls and get around undetected they're on a mission to solve Sticksville's most mysterious mysteries.
