Alex Lukashevsky discusses A Week of This on CIUT

Musician Alex Lukashevsky, who will be performing music inspired by A Week of This at The Word on the Street Toronto, will be interviewed on 89.5 CIUT FM Thursday, September 25 at 8:45am. Lukashevsky will be promoting his Word on the Street performance, which will accompany Nathan Whitlock's reading at the EYE Weekly music tent. Alex will be joined by WOTS festival director, Alexandra Moorshead, for the ten-minute live interview.

ECW Press is pleased to congratulate wrestling writers Greg Oliver and Steven Johnson on their winning the James C. Melby Journalism Award. The award honors the pair for their many contributions to professional wrestling journalism and is presented by the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum. The presentation will take place as part of the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame weekend in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday, June 28. The James C. Melby Journalism Award is named after the well-known wrestling historian who died in February 2007.

Ten years after "Kinder Egg option" Canadian novel set to premiere at TIFF.

Toronto. Pontypool Changes Everything a novel by Ontario author Tony Burgess (ECW Press, 1998) has been made into a full-length feature film that will have its world premiere this September at the Toronto International Film Festival. A psychological thriller, Pontypool-the movie's title-marks a change in direction for legendary Canadian film director Bruce McDonald. This is McDonald's first horror film. With a screenplay written by Burgess, it's the compelling, terrifying story of a devastating virus-one that is caught through conversation.
