Publishers Weekly features In Tongues of the Dead

Publishers Weekly published a cover story to highlight spring mystery books and included In Tongues of the Dead, by Brad Kelln. The mystery feature appeared in the November 24 issue. The book's description and cover image appeared along with print run, plot summary, and quotes from the author and ECW co-publisher Jack David. The Next Chapter with host Shelagh Rogers will feature a taped interview with Brian Francis, author of Fruit, on December 20. The Next Chapter is heard nationally on CBC Radio One every Saturday at 3pm.

Jon Paul Fiorentino on cover of Hour

Jon Paul Fiorentino, author of Stripmalling, is on the cover of the February 26, 2009 issue of Hour. Inside the magazine, there is an interview with Fiorentino about Stripmalling. In her introduction to the interview, writer Melora Koepke writes, "[Stripmalling has] a poignant tension between narrative and fragmentation, hopefulness and cynicism. . . . [Fiorentino has] become one of Montreal's -- and Canada's -- most prolific and accomplished young writers."

Edmonton Sun critic Robin Schroffel discusses the release of the film Pontypool at the Edmonton Film Festival, and recommends that readers unable to catch the film's festival screening should check out Tony Burgess's book, Pontypool Changes Everything.

Bruce McDonald's Pontypool opened the Edmonton Film Festival, was unveiled at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, and is slated for a Valentine's Day release in Canada. It has received positive reviews from film critics.

Fashion Magazine published a 150-word excerpt from Derek McCormack's The Show that Smells. The excerpt appeared in the October issue of Fashion, which hit newsstands September 15. Fashion's Web site will also post a feature interview with Derek McCormack in early October. Columnist Siofan Davies interviewed McCormack about the release of The Show that Smells.
