Lethal Rage
Lethal Rage follows the journey of Jack Warren, a young Toronto police officer, as he enters the dangerous streets of downtown’s 51 Division. Accustomed to the white-bread policing of his previous division, Jack is staggered when he first arrives at his new job. No TV show or movie prepared him for the reality of 51, where the officers wade through the filth of humanity on a daily – hourly – basis.
Warren is immediately thrown into a war between the cops of 51 and a new crack cocaine dealer intent on taking over the downtown drug trade. No one is safe from the dealer’s quest for domination and soon the war becomes horrifically personal for Jack.
Working with the boss of the division’s elite Major Crime Unit, Jack learns there is an imperceptible yet enormous difference between the law and justice, and being a police officer and surviving as a 51 street cop.

By looking at the cover, I figured this book to be an on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind of story. It wasn't that, but what I did get, I liked.
The story follows the life of a city police officer, and though the author changed the story and calls it fiction, I live close to the city and believe most of the stories are closer to truth. I love the setting in which the author wrote it too. He writes it like a journal entry. That adds a good effect to the story.
Not the most amazing book I ever read, but one I will pass around.
Slow Plot, Rising Action...As long as the reader is able to endure the slow rising action and lack of strong resolution, they will find an entertaining and exciting fictional commentary about the dangers inherent in police work in Toronto and beyond. Readers will finish the novel looking forward to more work from Pilkey about Jack and his comrades.
I am very much interested in reading this; however I prefer to do my reading digitally. I can't seem to locate a digital copy for sale. Does one exist?

Thanks for your interest!

Brent Pilkey’s Lethal Rage is like a really intense version of CSI or Law and Order in book form. The story moves so fast it’s hard to put the book down, and when you do you realize how fast your own heart is beating – no – thumping – in your chest. Jack Warren is a loveable character, even in his not-so-fine moments. It’s easy for the reader to root for him when he gets in scary situations, even if they aren’t legally correct. Any fans of crime novels, murder mysteries and true crime will love this book. Brent Pilkey is among crime-writing greats like Jon Wells and Jerry Langton. Great read!
