Toronto. Tuesday, June 10. Canadian director Bruce McDonald hopes to release Pontypool, his first horror film, this fall at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is based on Tony Burgess’ terrifying novel Pontypool Changes Everything.
Burgess also wrote the screenplay for the film and says, “Working with Bruce (McDonald) has been great. I write him these insane things that I think he’ll fire me over, but he just keeps putting them in the damn movie.” Pontypool was filmed in Toronto’s West end and near Stayner, Ontario. Genie Award winning actor Stephen McHattie and American-born Lisa Houle are cast in the film’s central roles.
